According to the Birmingham News, a compilation of the pre-season magazines has Bama at #8 Nationally and a very close #2 to Ole Miss in the SEC West. Those mags also have Ole Miss and Va Tech at #5 Nationally. Ole Miss' lack of defense, I believe, will be the major problem for them this year. Their best players are on offense in a league where defense dominates.
